STANFORD, Calif. – Rounding out its coaching staff with a highly-decorated player at every level, Stanford field hockey has named Megan Frazer as assistant coach. Frazer will hold an endowed title as the Onnie Killefer Assistant Field Hockey Coach.
"I couldn't be more excited to add Megan to our staff," said head coach Roz Ellis. "We immediately aligned in our coaching philosophies on developing student-athletes and mentoring a balance of sport, academics, and social life. Megan brings a wealth of knowledge from her collegiate and international hockey career. Our staff is primed to advance our squad toward Stanford success."
Frazer was a two-time NCAA champion at Maryland, where she was a two-time captain and the winner of the prestigious Honda Award for field hockey in 2011. Following her standout career in College Park, Frazer spent three years playing professionally with Mannheimer Hockey Club in Germany, which competed in the top tier of the Bundesliga as well as in the EuroHockey Champions Cup.
The experience for Frazer extends to the international level, as she has competed for the Ireland national team since 2007. A former captain with her country, Frazer was a World Cup silver medalist in 2018 and is the recipient of numerous FIH Player of the Tournament Awards.
Frazer brings a wealth of coaching experience to The Farm, as she has coached at the Strathearn School in Belfast, Northern Ireland since 2019. She previously served as the Ulster University head coach from 2017-18 and was a high-performance player mentor at Ulster from 2019-20.
Frazer graduated from Maryland in 2013 and earned her master's degree from Ulster in 2019 in biomedical engineering.
