STANFORD, Calif. - No. 3 Stanford exploded offensively and was a brick wall defensively, dominating throughout in a 19-3 victory over No. 10 Loyola Marymount to open the MPSF Invite.
The Cardinal is back in action on Saturday, Sept. 24, hosting No. 4 Pacific for a spot in the semifinals.

After playing the Lions just five days prior, Stanford put the hammer down the second time around after an 11-7 victory in Los Angeles. The game was 2-1 with just under three minutes left in the opening period but that was the closest it would ever be again, as the Cardinal unleashed a multitude an offensive weapons and stifled LMU in every way.
The Cardinal went on a 4-0 run to make it 6-1 before halftime. LMU knocked on the door several times to cut into the lead but Nolan Krutonog and the Cardinal defense were stellar, blocking shot after shot to ignite the crowd.
The three goals allowed by the Cardinal are its fewest against a top-10 team since only allowing one to No. 8 UC Davis last fall. 13 different Stanford players scored, while the Cardinal held LMU to a one-man attack, as Blazo Mitrovic score all three of the Lion goals.
