STOCKTON, Calif. - No. 3 Stanford returned to its winning ways on Saturday, defeating No. 4 Pacific 12-8 in Stockton. The Cardinal was led by four goals from Jackson Painter, improving to 18-1 on the season.

Similar to the first matchup between the two sides at the MPSF Invite, there wasn't much separation to start the game.
Stanford was able to pull out to a 5-2 lead in a defensive-minded first half before the Tigers scored three straight to make it 5-5, and subsequently 6-6.
With the game in the balance, Stanford rattled off five straight goals, including three from Painter, to put the game away.
