IRVINE, Calif. - The train keeps rolling for No. 1 Stanford as the Cardinal notched a 19-15 victory at No. 9 UC Irvine on Friday night. The win maintains Stanford's perfect record, improving to 16-0.

The second and third periods were the deciding stanzas for the Cardinal, as the host Anteaters did their best to make things interesting at both the beginning and end ofthe game.

UC Irvine scored the game's first goal, but the Cardinal scored four of the next five goals before a last-second shot from UCI made the score 4-3 after one period.

The 'Eaters evened things at 4-4 but that's the closest they would get for the remainder of the game, as Stanford exploded for seven second-period goals, including three from Jackson Painter and two from Larsen Weigle.

UC Irvine got as close as 11-8 in the third, but the Cardinal's 5-1 run all but sealed the victory for Stanford.

In total, nine different Cardinal scored, while Nolan Krutonog collected double-digit saves for the 10th time this season. The 19 goals match another 19 scored against No. 10 Loyola Marymount as the most for the Cardinal against a top-10 opponent since 2015.
