SALT LAKE CITY – Led by freshman Elia Rubin, No. 8 Stanford swept Utah, 25-22, 25-22, 25-20, Sunday at the Huntsman Center.
Stanford (10-4, 5-1 Pac-12) hit .327 as a team, while holding Utah (10-7, 3-3 Pac-12) to a .250 clip. Both teams registered 8.0 blocks and 38 digs.
Rubin posted 13 kills on .346 hitting and had eight digs, three assists and an ace to lead Stanford. Setter Kami Miner controlled the offense, racking up 40 assists, seven digs and four kills.

Opposite Kendall Kipp totaled 11 kills on .310 hitting, six digs and four blocks, while outside hitter Caitie Baird tallied 10 kills, five digs, two blocks and an ace. Junior libero Elena Oglivie finished with 10 digs and three assists.

Stanford's middles were efficient offensively as sophomore Sami Francis had seven kills on 11 errorless swings to post a .636 attack percentage, while redshirt junior McKenna Vicini chipped in with five kills on 10 swings with no errors to hit .500.
Utah was led by KJ Burgess, who had 10 kills on .625 hitting and three blocks. Madelyn Robinson added 12 kills and six digs for the Utes.
Stanford won its third straight match over Utah and improves to 22-4 in the all-time series.
The Cardinal remains on the road next week, traveling to Arizona on Friday and Arizona State on Sunday.
