• Stanford (3-5, 1-5 Pac-12) begins November at home with a matchup vs. Washington State (4-4, 1-4 Pac-12) Saturday. Kickoff at Stanford Stadium is set for 12:30 p.m. on Pac-12 Network.
• Four of Stanford’s five losses have come against ranked opponents, while Oregon State, its other loss, is now 6-2 and ranked No. 24 in the AP poll.
• Saturday’s game marks Stanford’s fifth annual Set The Expectation Game. Brenda Tracy shares her invaluable and important message on Sexual and Relationship Violence each year with the program, who was the first in college football to sign her Set The Expectation pledge in 2017. Tracy will be in attendance at Saturday’s game and will be recognized. Saturday is also Stanford’s Community Heroes game, where heroes of the community such as first responders, doctors and nurses, military and other heroes will be honored and recognized.
• Stanford and Washington State meet for the 72nd time on Saturday, with the Cardinal owning a 40-30-1 record against the Cougars all-time. The Cardinal looks to snap a five-game losing streak to Washington State.
• After no field goal attempts the first three games, junior Joshua Karty is 14-for-14 the last five games. Karty has 32 touchbacks on 41 kickoffs this year and the Cardinal ranks fourth nationally in kickoff return defense, allowing just 14.5 yards per return. Over the last three games, Karty has accounted for 32 of Stanford’s 44 points and made 10 field goals.
• Joshua Karty is one of three kickers nationally with at least 14 field goals made and no misses on the year. Karty is the only kicker in the nation with 10 field goals made of 40+ yards this season. He is a perfect 10-for-10 on those tries.
• Senior EDGE Stephen Herron has been a key component in Stanford’s improved defensive effort in October. An eight-game starter, Herron has 27 tackles, leads the team with 5.5 sacks (6.5 TFL) and has forced two fumbles.
• Senior ILB Levani Damuni continues to be a tackling machine for the Cardinal defense. Damuni is once again leading Stanford with 52 tackles on the year. He has two tackles for loss, a sack, an interception, one forced fumble, two quarterback hurries and a pass breakup.
• Junior tight end Benjamin Yurosek has 15 catches for 110 yards and a touchdown over the last two weeks. Against Arizona State, Yurosek had 10 catches for 78 yards, while he had five receptions for 32 yards and a score at UCLA Saturday night.
