TUCSON, Ariz. – No. 8 Stanford earned its first postseason win Wednesday, sweeping No. 6 seed Arizona State 3-0 at the 2022 Pac-12 Beach Volleyball Championship held at Bear Down Beach.

With the victory, the program set a new record for most wins in a season (24), topping its 2021 season total (23). 

All three Stanford pairs won in straight sets, led by senior Charlie Ekstrom and Maddi Kriz, who topped Arizona State's Anya Pemberton/Lila Bordis 21-12, 21-15 for the first point of the match. Sophomore Emmy Sharp and partner freshman Taylor Wilson recorded the Cardinal's second match point with a 21-18, 21-17 victory on court three, and the duo of senior Maddie Dailey and sophomore Maya Harvey sealed Stanford's win with their 10th triumph as a pair this season on court 4.

The Cardinal moves on in the winner's bracket and is slated to take on No. 3-ranked and No. 2 seed UCLA Thursday, April 28 at 10:15 a.m. The match will be broadcast on Pac-12 Networks.
