STANFORD, Calif. – Completing a weekend sweep at home, Stanford men's basketball led from start to finish in a 71-64 victory over Oregon on Saturday night at Maples Pavilion. The win was the Cardinal's second in a row in conference play.
Spencer Jones led the way with 16 points along with six rebounds and two steals, while Harrison Ingram stuffed the stat sheet with 11 points, eight rebounds five assists and two steals. Michael Jones was also in double figures with 10 points, while all eight of the Stanford players scored at least two field goals and six points.
The win was Stanford's fourth in the last five games against Oregon at Maples Pavilion.
The Cardinal jumped out to an 18-5 lead at the first media timeout after connecting on a trio of 3-pointers, including two from Ingram. Jones connected on two first half threes as well, tying Casey Jacobsen '02 for fourth on Stanford's all-time record book for made triples with 222. The Cardinal shot 66.7 percent from the floor over the opening 20 minutes, and led at the half 42-37.
Keeping the collective foot on the gas, Stanford led for double digits for the majority of the second half. Stanford led by as many as 17 with 1:54 to play, 68-51, while a late Ducks flurry ended the night in a seven-point win for the Cardinal.
Stanford continues its four-game homestand on Wednesday, Jan. 25 with its final non-conference game of the season – a matchup with Chicago State. The action airs at 7 p.m. on Pac-12 Network.
