- Stanford swept Week Two 5-0 at the Red and Black Showcase hosted by No. 13 Georgia.
- Pitchers Alana Vawter and NiJaree Canady had an amazing weekend, with Canady throwing 26 strikeouts in 14.1 innings and shutting out Georgia in the second game.
- Freshman NiJaree Canady was named the Pac-12 Pitcher and Freshman of the week after her performance. She added the D1Softball Freshman of the Week honor to the list as well.
- River Mahler continued her dominance at bat, leading the Cardinal in batting percentage at .613.
- Senior Emily Schultz had an amazing weekend at the plate, including going 4-for-4 against St. Johns and bringing in four RBI.
- Stanford went 3-2 on opening weekend, taking on two Top-25 ranked teams, including defending NCAA Champions #1 Oklahoma.
- The Cardinal beat San Jose State 18-0, the first time Stanford has beaten a team by 18 runs since 2011 agaisnt Utah State.
- In the first meeting between Stanford and Liberty, the Cardinal run-ruled the Lady Flames in five innings (8-0). Liberty made the Durham Regionals last season, but ultimately fell to No. 19 Georgia.
- Freshman NiJaree Canady pitched a no-hitter against Liberty, the first for the Cardinal since last year's no-hitter Molly Millar pitched against Mount St. Mary's. The Topeka, Kan. native struck out 10 Liberty batters across 15 at-bats.
Preseason Honors
- Ahead of the start of the season, the Cardinal has picked up numerous awards and preseason rankings.
- Stanford is ranked in every major preseason poll, with D1Softball ranking the Cardinal the highest at 11. The NFCA maintained the Card's 18 ranking from the end of the 2022 season and USA Softball put Stanford at 14th.
- Alana Vawter picked up multiple preseason recognitions, including USA Softball's Player of the Year Watchlist. She was also selected to D1Softball's Top 100 players to watch, coming in at 24, and 9th on its pitcher list. Vawter was also named to the Preseason All-Pac-12 Team.
- The Cardinal was tabbed to finish second in the Pac-12, as voted on in the conference's preseason coaches poll. This is the highest ranking the team has received with Coach Allister at the helm.
A Super Season
- Stanford ended it's 2022 season with 39 wins, it's most since 2013. Additionally, the Cardinal made its first Super Regional appearance since 2011.
- The Cardinal defeated sixth-seeded Alabama in the Tuscaloosa Regional, preventing the Crimson Tide from advancing to the Supers for the first time in program history.
- In Pac-12 play, Stanford finished the season fourth in the conference - its highest since 2013
