STANFORD, Calif. -- Junior Regan Krause turned in a brilliant performance on Friday, tossing a no-hitter and striking out nine to lead the No. 16 Stanford Cardinal over the Nevada Wolf Pack 3-0.
Krause (2-1) added her second win of the season to her outstanding performance. The right-hander struck out a career high nine and walked none for Stanford (10-2) in her second career no-hitter
Junior Aly Kaneshiro led the way offensively for the Cardinal, starting off the scoring with a triple to bring in River Mahler. Freshman Kyra Chan furnished a noteworthy performance at the dish as well adding two insurance runs with a single up the middle. Freshman River Mahler also helped out, going 2-for-3 for Stanford.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Cardinal took the lead for good in the first, scoring off of Kaneshiro's triple.
The Cardinal then tacked on runs in the sixth inning when they scored two times. Those two runs came across when a single from Chan brought home senior Kaitlyn Lim and freshman Emily Jones.
