A Win on Senior Day

STANFORD, Calif. – No. 12 Stanford celebrated senior day with a 169-108 win over No. 20 USC, winning 13 out of 16 events to improve to 4-1 on the season.
 
In the diving well, Jack Ryan took first in the 1-meter with a 353.70 while Hunter Hollenbeck placed fifth with a 266.10. On the 3-meter, Hollenbeck and Ryan took third and fourth respectively at 350.25 and 344.78.
 
The Cardinal started off the meet taking first and second in the 200 medley relay led by the A team comprised of Leon Macallister, Zhier Fan, Ethan Hu and Jonny Affeld going 1:27.62.
 
Stanford took the top spot in both distance events, with Matt Fenlon (9:19.42) placing first in the 1000 and Preston Forst (4:28.77) winning the 500.
 
Fan earned gold in his two events, going 53.08 in the 100 breast and 1:56.93 in the 200 breast. Mac Alister took the title in the 100 back (47.17) while Hayden Kwan won the 200 back (1:46.31).
 
In the butterfly events, Andrei Minakov place first in the 100 at 47.02, more than a second faster than second place, and Jackson Odgers took the 200 fly at 1:47.55. Luke Maurer and Andres Matejka took first and second in the 200 free, going 1:36.66 and 1:38.54 respectively.
 
 Andres DuPont beat out Maurer by one hundredth of a second in the 100 free at 43.94 to earn the gold and Ron Polonsky wrapped up the individual part of the meet with a win in the 200 IM (1:47.59).
 
The Cardinal will wrap up the regular season at Cal on February 18.
