ANNAPOLIS, Md. – No. 2 Stanford hit for season-best marks on pommel horse, still rings and horizontal bar on Saturday en route to registering a season-high 423.550 overall team score to defeat No. 8 Navy (395.300) and No. 9 Air Force (389.550) in a tri-meet.

The Cardinal scored 68.900 on pommel horse, 72.400 on still rings and 67.700 on horizontal bar.

Stanford won five of the six individual event titles on the afternoon.

Brody Malone won the horizontal bar title with a 14.150, while fellow captain J.R. Chou won the parallel bars title with a career-best score of 14.850.

Nicolas Kuebler won the floor title with a season-high mark of 14.550, while Asher Hong finished atop the standings on rings at 14.650. Senior Zach Martin rounded out the event winners for Stanford with a 14.800 on vault.

In addition to his title, Malone finished second on parallel bars (14.750) and still rings with a career-high tying 14.600.

Finishing behind Martin, Hong was second on floor at 14.400, while Jeremy Bischoff was third at 13.600.

Khoi Young (14.350) and Malone (13.950) finished second and third, respectively, on pommel horse. Luke McFarland took fourth with a career-high 13.800.

All five Cardinal gymnasts finished ahead of the opposition on rings, led by Hong and Malone. Senior Brandon Briones finished third at 14.500, followed by Mark Berlaga (14.350) and Ian Gunther (season-best 14.300).

Briones also finished third on vault with a score of 14.650.

Just as they did on rings, Stanford took the top five spots on parallel bars. After Chou and Malone, Ian Lasic-Ellis (career-high 14.700), Bischoff (14.350) and Hong (14.150) followed in third through fifth, respectively.

Competing on horizontal bar, Brandon Nguyen contributed a second-place finish with a career-high mark of 13.950, followed by Kuebler in third at 13.400.

The Cardinal will now prepare for the MPSF Championships on April 1 in Colorado Springs, Colo.
