Academic All-Americans

AUSTIN, Texas – Brandon Angel and Michael Jones have joined a select group of men's basketball alumni before them with selections to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America third team.

This season marks the first time in program history Stanford has had multiple Academic All-Americans in the same year, while they are the first to earn the honor since Oscar da Silva in 2021. Angel and Jones are the 13th and 14th Stanford players to be awarded the accolade.

Angel continued his ascension as one of the top emerging forwards in the Pac-12, finishing the season with averages of 9.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game while shooting nearly 52 percent from the field and 39 percent from 3-point range, including marks of 55 percent from the floor in Pac-12 play and 44.2 percent from beyond the arc. Angel is majoring in economics.

Jones made history in the fall as the first graduate transfer in Stanford men's basketball history, and quickly acclimated to the program as one of the top sixth men in the Pac-12. Jones averaged 9.5 points per game while ranking fourth in conference play with a 41.9 percent clip from 3-point range. The Woodbury, Minnesota native is earning his master's degree in statistics.

Stanford was the only men's basketball program to have multiple players honored.
