STANFORD, Calif. - Samir Banerjee's clutch three-set victory lifted No. 24 Stanford to a 4-3 win over No. 15 Arizona on Friday afternoon at Taube Family Tennis Stadium.

Stanford (9-5, 1-0 Pac-12) picked up a victory in its conference opener while remaining unbeaten in seven home matches and defeating its third top-25 opponent of the season.

The Cardinal displayed resiliency throughout the match, overcoming a doubles point loss while also trailing 2-0 and 3-2 during singles play.

Arizona (12-4, 0-1 Pac-12) quickly secured the doubles point and moved ahead 2-0 following a win on court six.

Arthur Fery and Nishesh Basavareddy responded with back-to-back wins before the Wildcats took a 3-2 lead.

Neel Rajesh delivered a 6-3, 6-4 win at the No. 5 spot to even the match at 3-3.

Banerjee then provided the clincher, racing out to a 4-1 lead in the third set before closing it 6-3.

Stanford next faces Arizona State on Saturday, March 18 at 4 p.m.
