The Cardinal downed Arizona (4-3) and Arizona State (4-1) to open the conference slate.
- The Cardinal has four singles players ranked this week, while the team slots in at No. 20. Nishesh Basavareddy is ranked fifth, and is joined in the top-10 by Arthur Fery (No. 7) and Max Basing (No. 9). Stanford is the only school with three players not just in the top-10, but in the top-20, while Samir Banerjee is also ranked at No. 59. Additionally, the doubles tandem of Basavareddy and Fery is ranked No. 22.
- Basavareddy is 22-4 on the season after winning the ITA Fall National Championship, the ITA Northwest Super Regional and the consolation bracket at the ITA All-American Championships. Basavareddy has tallied an 11-3 record against nationally ranked opponents and a 5-0 mark against Pac-12 foes.
- Basing is 12-4 on the season, after an 18-2 dual record as a freshman, with eight victories coming over ranked opponents and a 7-2 mark in dual action. The sophomore beat four straight ranked opponents at the ITA All-American Championships to advance to the tournament's semifinal round.
- Fery returns for his junior campaign after taking the fall off from collegiate tennis to play in professional tournaments. An All-American last season, Fery was ranked as high as No. 1 in the country in singles and No. 6 in doubles, going 24-8 in singles and 26-10 in doubles overall. Fery is currently a top-500 singles player in the world, and picked up M25 professional wins this fall in singles in Sheffield, Nottingham and Malibu and in doubles in Sunderland. Fery has nine wins at No. 1 singles this year, and beat the former No. 1 national player in straight sets (Ethan Quinn, Georgia - 7-6 (8), 6-3) in Orlando. Five of his nine wins have come against ranked foes.
- Samir Banerjee leads the team with 11 dual wins - at No. 2 and No. 3 singles - and is one of four players with 10 singles wins this year. Seven players have at least four dual wins this year, also including Neel Rajesh (eight), Filip Kolasinski (five) and Aryan Chaudhary (four).
