Kukadia Advances

PHILADELPHIA – Freshman Khushi Kukadia won her game on day one of the CSA National Individual Championships, advancing to the quarterfinals.

Kukadia won her match 3-1 against Franklin & Marshall's Gurlin Kaur in the Holleran East Cup. It was a battle, with all but one game going beyond 11 points, with Kukadia winning the match in a fourth round that went 14-12.

Si Yi Ma fell in the Ramsay Cup in four rounds, dropping her record to 12-2. In the Holleran West Cup, Lucia Bicknell also fell in the round of sixteen 3-1.

The Cardinal is coming off a third-place finish in the Kurtz Cup at CSA Team Nationals and completed an impressive turnaround after a winless 2022 season.

After finishing 0-11 last season, Stanford took a major step forward in 2023 despite regularly featuring a starting lineup that included seven freshmen. The Cardinal also delivered a third-place finish at the MASC Championships in its first year as a member school.
