EUGENE, Ore. – Stanford men's basketball earned a split in its final series of the regular season, dropping a Saturday contest on CBS to Oregon, 73-68, at Matthew Knight Arena.
Spencer Jones and Brandon Angel led the Cardinal with 18 points each, with Jones making four triples and Angel going a perfect 3-for-3 beyond the arc. Harrison Ingram and Maxime Raynaud joined the pair in double figures with 11 and 10 points, respectively.
The Cardinal shot 43 percent as a team from beyond the arc and 46 percent from the floor.
Stanford jumped out to an early 8-0 advantage led by back-to-back 3-pointers from Spencer Jones, and led by as many as nine, 18-9, with 11:24 to go in the period. Oregon responded with a run to even the score with seven minutes to go and scored the final five points of the period to take a 39-34 lead into the half.
The Cardinal made multiple runs at the lead in the second half, pulling within three points with just under seven minutes to play. Ingram and Angel combined late for baskets, but Oregon made enough free throws at the end of the game to secure the result.
Stanford's regular season is complete, with the team set to play on Wednesday in the opening round of the Pac-12 Tournament at 6 p.m. on Pac-12 Network.
