Stopped in Salt Lake

SALT LAKE CITY – No. 20 Stanford men's tennis suffered its first defeat of the conference slate, dropping a 4-1 match to No. 31 Utah on Friday afternoon.

The Utes took the doubles point with wins on courts two and three, but Stanford tied the match on court one in singles with a 6-3, 6-1 win from Arthur Fery.

Four of the matchups went to three-sets in the competitive affair, but the Utes came on top with wins in the second, third and fifth positions.

Stanford returns to action on Friday, April 7 against USC. The first serves are set for 2 p.m.
