Dominance Continues

STANFORD, Calif. - No. 11 Stanford continued its winning ways on Friday afternoon, rolling to a 6-1 victory over No. 19 Washington for its 13 victory in a row, improving to 16-2 overall and 8-0 in the Pac-12.

The win clinches at least a share of the conference title for the Cardinal. A win on Saturday vs. Washington State seals the outright championship for Stanford.

The Cardinal was in prime position to win each of its doubles matches, with courts one and two finishing first, as No. 28 Angelica Blake and Alexis Blokhina one 6-3, followed by an identical score from Sara Choy and Alexandra Yepifanova

The top courts set the tone early in singles and would eventually clinch the match for the Cardinal. No. 28 Yepifanova picked up her sixth ranked win of the spring and 13th win in a row on court one, 6-2, 6-1 over No. 101 Hikaru Sato. No. 36 Blake finished soon after, 6-1, 6-3 on court three, with the clinching point delivered by No. 14 Ma, 6-1, 6-1 on court one. Choy was a straight set winner on court six, 6-2, 6-3.

No. 70 Blokhina stormed back after a sluggish start on court four, winning a 0-6, 6-2, 6-2 comeback for Stanford's sixth point of the day. Valencia Xu had her chances, but dropped two tiebreak sets for UW's lone win.

Stanford will celebrate senior Angelica Blake 15 minutes prior to Saturday's 11:30 a.m. start time. #11 Stanford 6, #19 Washington
