STANFORD, Calif. – Joining the Stanford program following a successful career at Providence, Jared Bynum has signed with the Cardinal as a graduate transfer. He is the second graduate transfer in program history, joining Michael Jones (Davidson) from 2022.
"Jared brings a combination of skill and toughness that we are very excited about," said Jerod Haase, the Anne and Tony Joseph Director of Men's Basketball. "He has proven himself on both ends of the floor at the highest level of college basketball, and his game will translate extremely well to our system and the Pac-12."
Bynum was a decorated point guard at Providence, where he spent four seasons following a transfer from Saint Joseph's. He was an All-Big East second team honoree in 2022, as well as the Big East Sixth Man of the Year and a USBWA All-District selection. Bynum was a preseason choice to the All-Big East first team last season.
"It goes without saying that Jared is a special student-athlete," continued Haase. "He is looking to achieve big things both on and off the court. We are thrilled to add him to our program."
Bynum joins the Cardinal with career averages of 10.3 points, 2.9 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.1 steals per game, while being able to score at all three levels. He helped lead Providence to two NCAA Tournaments.
The Largo, Maryland native joins a Stanford team that set a program record for 3-point makes a year ago and ranked among the top-25 offenses in the country.
