No. 8 Stanford will be hosting Cal, who is receiving votes in the major polls, in a Pac-12 series this weekend.

  • Cal leads the series 33-54, and won the last conference series 2-1, with Stanford taking the final game 5-1.
  • The last time stanford won the series was in 2021 at home. 
  • Cal has the most recent series sweep, taking the series at Stanford in 2018. Stanford last swept Cal in 2013.
  • The Cardinal is tied for fourth in the Pac-12 at the moment with an 8-7 record while Cal sits at sixth with a 6-8-1 record.
  • The Cardinal has had one of the best starts in program history, only losing three games in 30 matchups. The last time Stanford had a start like this was in 2009, where the team went 21-9, and 26-4 in 2010.
  • Stanford recorded the second-longest win streak in program history with 21 ending when they lost to Oregon in game two of the conference series. The longest win streak came in 2009 when the Cardinal won 28 straight games.

Arizona's Hillenbrand Stadium will serve as the host site for the inaugural Pac-12 Softball Tournament, which is set to make its debut from May 10-13, 2023. The four-day event will begin with a play-in game between the eighth and ninth-place teams in the regular-season standings on Wednesday. That winner will advance to an eight-team, single-elimination bracket with the quarterfinals, semifinals and championship being contested on the following three days. The winner of the Pac-12 Softball Tournament will receive the Conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
