LOS ANGELES -- No. 6 Stanford was blanked by No. 3 UCLA 3-0 in game three of the series for a sweep at Easton Stadium.
Alana Vawter (12-3) started and took the loss in the circle for Stanford (28-6, 5-4). The right-hander went six innings, giving up three runs on seven hits, allowing one walk and striking out four.
In the batter's box, Taylor Gindlesperger started the game with a double, but the Cardinal only recorded three more hits the rest of the game.
Stanford did not advance a runner past second base in the game. The Cardinal went 0-for-5 with runners in scoring position.
The Cardinal is back home next week for a series against Arizona, starting on Thursday.
