- Stanford returns home for a pair of Pac-12 slates this weekend, hosting No. 10 USC on Friday, April 7 and No. 28 UCLA on Saturday, April 8. The Cardinal has won 23 straight matchups at Taube Family Tennis Center.
- The Cardinal is 11-6 (2-1 Pac-12) to start the spring, including two wins at the ITA Kickoff Weekend over Georgia Tech and Texas A&M Jan. 29-30, a win over Florida in Orlando, 4-1, and a shutout over Wake Forest at ITA Indoors, 4-0. The Cardinal downed Arizona (4-3) and Arizona State (4-1) to open the conference slate.
- Currently third in the Pac-12, Stanford is even with the top seven teams with one loss in the conference season. USC and UCLA each enter with 1-1 marks after splitting with Arizona and Arizona State.
- The Cardinal has four singles players ranked this week, while the team slots in at No. 24. Arthur Fery is ranked ninth, and is joined in the top-20 by Nishesh Basavareddy (No. 10) and Max Basing (No. 16). Stanford is the only school with three players in the top-20, while Samir Banerjee is also ranked at No. 74. Additionally, the doubles tandem of Basavareddy and Fery is ranked No. 28.
- Fery returns for his junior campaign after taking the fall off from collegiate tennis to play in professional tournaments. An All-American last season, Fery was ranked as high as No. 1 in the country in singles and No. 6 in doubles, going 24-8 in singles and 26-10 in doubles overall. Fery is currently a top-500 singles player in the world, and picked up M25 professional wins this fall in singles in Sheffield, Nottingham and Malibu and in doubles in Sunderland. Fery has 11 wins at No. 1 singles this year, and beat the former No. 1 national player in straight sets (Ethan Quinn, Georgia - 7-6 (8), 6-3) in Orlando. Six of his 11 wins have come against ranked foes, including two over players currently in the top-10.
- Basavareddy is 22-6 on the season after winning the ITA Fall National Championship, the ITA Northwest Super Regional and the consolation bracket at the ITA All-American Championships. Basavareddy has tallied an 11-3 record against nationally ranked opponents and a 5-1 mark against Pac-12 foes.
- Basing is 12-4 on the season, after an 18-2 dual record as a freshman, with eight victories coming over ranked opponents and a 7-2 mark in dual action. The sophomore beat four straight ranked opponents at the ITA All-American Championships to advance to the tournament's semifinal round.
- Samir Banerjee co-leads the team with 11 dual wins, along with Fery, at No. 2 and No. 3 singles, and is one of six players with at least 10 singles wins this year. Seven players have at least five dual wins this year, also including Neel Rajesh (nine), Filip Kolasinski (six) and Aryan Chaudhary (five).
- The Cardinal is 66-77 all-time against USC and won each of the last two meetings on the Farm.
- Stanford is 63-74 all-time against the Bruins, including three straight wins and four of the last five.
- Stanford went 19-6 last season, including a perfect 10-0 record at Taube Family Tennis Center. Stanford earned a bid to its 14th consecutive NCAA Tournament, traveling to 14th seeded Harvard for a pair of victories to advance to the Super Regional.
- Paul Goldstein is in his ninth season as the Taube Family Director of Men's Tennis. Goldstein’s teams have posted a 137-57 record with a national ranking and a berth in the NCAA Championships in each of his seasons at the helm.
