All-Academic Fencers

TWELVE STANFORD FENCERS were named to the All-Academic team for the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation.

Nine Cardinal women earned the qualifications, which included a 3.00 cumulative grade-point average, at least sophomore standing, and action in at least 50 percent of the team's competitions.
Three of Stanford's NCAA qualifiers were among the group, including All-American Irene Yeu. MPSF Women's Fencer of the Year Joy Yun and Men's Fencer of the Year Donghwan Park also were among them.

Stanford won the MPSF team championship this season and went on to finish 13th at the National Championships. Four Cardinal won conference individual championships. They were Yeu in epee, Yun in saber, and freshman Crystal Qian in foil for the women. Park was the MPSF men's saber champion.
