STANFORD, Calif. – No. 24 Stanford men's tennis rebounded on Saturday from a tight loss on Friday, downing No. 28 UCLA, 4-2, on Saturday at Taube Family Tennis Center.
The Cardinal fell behind early in doubles, with the Bruins claiming wins on courts one and three.
Stanford shifted the momentum in singles action, winning three consecutive matches to take a 3-1 lead. Max Basing finished off a 6-2, 6-3 triumph in the second slot, while Arthur Fery followed minutes later in the top position, 6-1, 7-5. Aryan Chaudhary gave the Cardinal a sweep in the top three slots, going 6-4, 6-4.
The Bruins got a point back on court six, but Neel Rajesh clinched the match for Stanford on court four in straight sets. The clinching point was the team-leading fourth of the season for Rajesh.
Stanford closes its Pac-12 home slate on Saturday, April 15 against rival California. The first serve is set for 2:30 p.m., or after the conclusion of the women's contest.
