Graduate Transfer Inside Linebacker

STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford's Bradford M. Freeman Director of Football Troy Taylor announced the addition of graduate transfer inside linebacker Spencer Lytle today. Lytle will join the program this summer from Wisconsin and has two years of eligibility remaining.
 
The Belflower, Calif. native comes to The Farm after spending four seasons with the Badgers, seeing action in 15 games. He reunites with inside linebackers coach Mark D'Onofrio, whom he was coached by at Wisconsin during the 2022 season.

Prior To Stanford

  • Spent four seasons at Wisconsin
  • Three-time Academic All-Big Ten
  • Totaled seven tackles (four solo, three asst), a tackle-for-loss and a fumble recovery with the Badgers
  • Graduated from Wisconsin with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Real Estate and Urban Land Economics and a Master of Science degree in Business Analytics
  • Accepted into Stanford's sustainable design and construction graduate program
  • Two-time team captain and played three years at St. John Bosco for head coach Jason Negro
  • Also played basketball and ran track in high school
  • A four-star recruit by Rivals
  • A three-star recruit by 247 Sports and ESPN 
  • Led St. John Bosco to CIF Southern Section Division 1 title game in his senior season
  • Paced the Trinity Leauge with 108 tackles, 12 tackles for loss and seven sacks in his senior season
