Kipp Powers Card Past Colorado State

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Opposite Kendall Kipp tallied 21 kills in her season debut, leading No. 3 Stanford to a 25-16, 25-17, 20-25, 25-15, Saturday, at Moby Arena.

As a team, Stanford (2-0) hit .361 while holding Colorado State (1-1) to a .158 clip. The Cardinal racked up 62 digs, 9.0 blocks and seven aces.

Kipp's 21 kills came on .459 hitting. The fifth-year from Newport Beach also registered nine digs, two blocks and three aces in her first match of the season.

Junior setter Kami Miner controlled the offense with 48 assists to go with 10 digs, two blocks and a kill. Libero Elena Oglivie finished with 11 digs and six assists.
 


Middle blocker Sami Francis turned in eight kills on a team-best .467 attack percentage, four blocks and three digs. Sophomore outside hitter Elia Rubin finished with 16 kills on .367 hitting, a career-high 18 digs and two blocks.

Freshman outside hitter Julia Blyashov made her second career start, totaling a season-best 10 kills, seven digs and two aces. Middle blocker McKenna Vicini had a match-high five blocks to go with three kills. Sophomore defensive specialist Anna Pringle chipped in with two digs and an ace off the bench.
 


Colorado State was led by Malaya Jones' nine kills, while Kennedy Stanford added seven kills, eight digs and three aces.

Up next, Stanford welcomes No. 11 Florida to The Farm for its home opener. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Pac-12 Networks.
