Stanford Sweeps WSU in Pac-12 Opener

STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford swept all ten events to win its second meet in as many days, knocking off Washington State, 117-65, in the Pac-12 opener on Saturday afternoon. The Cardinal jumps to 3-0 on the young season with the victory.
 
Lillie Nordmann and Sophie Duncan led the way for Stanford, each tallying two race wins on the day. Nordmann secured event titles in the 50 free (23.44) and 150 back (1:26.26), while Duncan rolled to victories in the 300 free (2:51.68) and 600 free (5:53.80).
 
Caroline Bricker continued her impressive start to her freshman season, tallying another event win in the 150 breast with a time of 1:36.46. It was her fourth event title on the weekend, winning three races on Friday against Arkansas.
 
Aurora Roghair clocked a 1:17.95 to win the 150 free, while Lucy Thomas was the first to touch in the 100 IM with a 55:89. Natalie Mannion closed out the event winners for Stanford with a 1:25.87 mark in the 150 fly.
 
Stanford completed the sweep with bookend wins in both relays. The group of Nordmann, Mannion, Janelle Rudolph and Gigi Johnson opened the meet with a 400 medley relay win with a 3:41.64 time, and Mannion, Johnson, Anna Shaw, and Meghan Lynch finished the day with a 4:23.64.
 
The Cardinal returns to action on Nov. 15-18, heading to Austin for the Texas Swim Invitational.
