- Stanford women’s golf returns to the Stephens Cup on Oct. 9-11, attempting to defend its crown in this prestigious fall tournament.
- The annual event takes place at Trinity Forest Golf Club in Dallas, Texas. It is a 6,200-yard, par-72 course.
- The Cardinal were winners in last year’s Stephens Cup after finishing second out of seven teams in stroke play, and then beating Wake Forest in match play to secure the cup.
- In a loaded field, the Card had three of the top-12 golfers in the field. Rachel Heck was the team’s best golfer through stroke play, finishing at 5-under for the tournament, including a 5-under 67 in the third round. Heck finished tied for third overall.
- Most recently, Stanford lost the annual Big Match to California 4-3 on Sept. 28. California has won the Big Match three times in the four years of the event.
- The Stephens Cup is the first of three tournaments in the month of October for the Card: Stanford Intercollegiate (Oct. 20-22) and East Lake Cup (Oct. 30 – Nov. 1).
