Cardinal Trio Receive America East Honors

BOSTON – Following the conclusion of the regular season this past weekend, three Stanford student-athletes garnered All-America East honors as announced by the conference on Wednesday morning.

Midfielder Star Horlock highlighted the Cardinal with a pair of honors, being selected to the All-America East second team and All-Rookie squad. Gemma Townsend joined her fellow freshman on the all-rookie squad, while Daisy Ford was chosen to the All-Academic team.

A native of Salisbury, England, Horlock received her first all all-conference honors after starting in 13 of her 15 appearances on the year. Horlock finishes the season second in scoring for the Cardinal, tallying four goals and two assists while manning the midfield.

Townsend registered an impressive freshman season leading the Stanford attack, as she lead the team in goals (5) and assists (3) on the year. The Esher, England native became the first Stanford freshman to lead the team in all scoring categories since Corrine Zannoli in 2017.

Adding to her academic accolades, it is Ford's first time being recognized by the conference for her success in the classroom. The sophomore netminder made 11 starts on the season and made 52 saves between the posts. A leader on and off the field, Ford was selected to the NFCHA Academic squad and was named a NFCHA Scholar of Distinction a season ago.
