Roghair Dominates on Day Two

AUSTIN, Texas – Junior Aurora Roghair headlined day two at the Texas Swim Invitational with an event title in the 500 free on Thursday evening, good enough to put herself in the record books with a Stanford Top-10 time in the event.
 
The Iowa City, Iowa native clocked a 4:37.10 in the event final to meet the NCAA "A" standard cut time, winning the race by more than a full second. Natalie Mannion earned a "B" cut time of 4:39.18 to earn a podium finish, while Kayla Wilson (4:42.87), Sophie Duncan (4:44.81), and Lillie Nordmann (4:45.62) also reached the "B" standard in the 500 free on the day.
 
Caroline Bricker paced the Cardinal in both the 200 IM prelims and finals, finishing the night with a fourth-place finish in the event final with a time on 1:55.49. Bricker tallied her first 200 IM "B" Cut time off the season, along with fellow teammates Lucy Bell (1:56.58), Charlotte Hook (1:58.33), and Sam Tadder (1:58.42).
 
Stanford also tallied a trio of B-Cut times in the 50 free, with Lucy Thomas (22.36) and Gigi Johnson (22.60) meeting the NCAA Standard in the event finals, while Anna Shaw surpassed the mark in the morning prelims by clocking a 22.58.
 
Closing out the night was the 400 medley relay, as the group of Mannion, Bricker, Hook, and Shaw meet the NCAA 'B' Standard cut time with a 3:33.41 to place sixth in the event.
 
Action resumes tomorrow morning inside Jamail Texas Swimming Center, with prelims beginning at 8 a.m. PT followed by finals at 4 p.m. PT.
