Bell, Bricker Post Stanford Top-10s in Day Three

AUSTIN, Texas – Lucy Bell and Caroline Bricker cemented their names in the Cardinal record books on Friday evening, as the pair both improved upon their Stanford Top-10 times in the 400 IM to highlight Day 3 at the Texas Swim Invitational.
 
Bell claimed the event title with a mark of 4:03.25, tying USC's Justina Kozan to improve upon her previous career best by over two seconds. Bricker followed just behind with a 4:03.39 to place third in the event. The pair also tallied NCAA "A" Standard times, while Sam Tadder, Charlotte Hook, and Sophie Duncan also met the "B" standard.
 
Kayla Wilson placed third in the 200 free final with a 1:43.21 to earn a season-best "B" cut time. She was joined by Aurora Roghair, Anna Shaw, and Natalie Mannion, who also passed the threshold, while Lillie Nordmann tallied a "B" cut time in the morning prelims of the event.
 
Nordmann and Gigi Johnson also season-best earned "B" cut times in the 100 fly finals, while Johnson and Janelle Rudolph met the "B" standard in the 100 back. Lucy Thomas rounded out the finals group with a fifth-place finish in the 100 breast with a 1:00.18.
 
The Texas Invitational concludes tomorrow with the 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly, 1650 free, and 400 free relay events. Prelims will begin at 8 a.m. PT and finals will take place at 4 p.m. PT.
