STANFORD, Calif. – Seven players scored in double figures, Stanford shot better than 46 percent from behind the arc and the No. 15 Cardinal rolled past Dominican in its lone exhibition, 126-53, in Maples Pavilion on Wednesday night.
Elena Bosgana and Kiki Iriafen led the way with 19 apiece, while Bosgana added a game-high four assists and Iriafen pulled down a game-high 14 rebounds. Freshmen Nunu Agara and Courtney Ogden each finished with 16, combining to go 12-of-21 from the floor, while fellow first-year Chloe Clardy had eight points and three steals. Jzaniya Harriel and Hannah Jump both put up 13, Harriel going 2-of-3 from deep and Jump 3-of-4.
Brooke Demetre had 12 boards and Cameron Brink contributed 10 points and four blocks in 14 minutes.
Stanford hit its first five shots to go up 11-2 a little over two minutes into the game and pushed the tempo throughout, scoring 26 points on the break. The Cardinal was up 40-10 after one and really distanced itself from the Penguins with a 26-0 second-quarter run that spanned six minutes and had Stanford up 55, 68-13, after Ogden buried a triple with 3:38 to go in the first half.
All 12 on the Cardinal roster played more than eight minutes and no one played more than 21.
Dominican finished the game on an 11-0 run over the final 4:42 to close things out. Despite shooting only 6-of-23 (.261) in the fourth, Stanford hit at a 54.4 percent clip for the game (49-of-90) and had 24 offensive rebounds lead to 26 second-chance points.
Stanford starts its regular season next Wednesday, Nov. 8 when it hosts Hawai'I at 7 p.m.
