Fall PCCSC Championship Results Opens in a new window

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Stanford claimed the PCCSC Fall Open Championship over the weekend, concluding the fall season with a conference win. It was Stanford's eighth regatta win of the fall campaign.

"It's a dominant performance from the complete class of 2027," said head sailing coach Chris Klevan. "They took care of business while the remainder of the team stayed home to receive their championship rings at the Big Game. Overall, great vibes to end the fall season."

The Cardinal was dominant from start to finish, never wavering from first place in the overall lead during the event. In 30 races across the A, B, and C divisions, Stanford won 24 races and never finished lower than third.

Each boat finished with the best mark in its division, led by the A and C boats with 12 points. The B boat was close behind, finishing with 13.

This year's freshmen class took control of duties in Santa Barbara. Thomas Sitzmann and Alice Schmid represented the Cardinal in the A boat, Reade Decker and Alexis Young handled the B boat, while Luke Woodworth and Shay Young sailed in the C boat.

Stanford's 2022-23 team stayed behind at The Farm to attend and be honored at the Big Game at Stanford Stadium on Saturday. The championship team was honored on the field during the game and received their championship rings as part of the ceremony.

This concludes Stanford's fall season. The team will be back in action for the spring campaign following the winter break.
