STANFORD, Calif. -- The Stanford women's squash team will open the season at No. 4.
In the College Squash Association preseason poll, the Cardinal trails only Harvard, Trinity, and Princeton in the rankings. This is Stanford's highest preseason ranking since it was also No. 4 going into the 2019-20 season. No. 4 is a program best preseason ranking, first reached in 2018-19 and matched a year later.
The 2019-20 season concluded with Stanford's best national finish, placing third in the Howe Cup. Since COVID, Stanford has had to rebound.
In 2021-22, Stanford placed 24th in the country and last season improved to 11th by placing third in the B-level Kurtz Cup.
This season, as evidenced by its ranking, Stanford is poised to return to the national elite.
