Seven Named to TopDrawerSoccer Best XI Teams

STANFORD, Calif.Jasmine Aikey and Kennedy Wesley each earned a spot on the TopDrawerSoccer Best XI first team, headlining seven Cardinal selections across the end of year squads.
 
Aikey, a semifinalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy and a United Soccer Coaches All-America first team pick, was named Pac-12 Midfielder of the Year and earned All-Pac-12 first team honors this season. The Honda Award for Soccer finalist scored in nine of 25 matches this year while contributing a point in 18 of the 25, helping lead the Cardinal to the 2023 National Championship match and a runner-up finish. The two-time United Soccer Coaches All-Region first team selection finished the season ranked first in the Pac-12 in assists (12) and points (34), second in game-winning goals (4), and third in total goals (11).
 
Wesley was a United Soccer Coaches All-Region third team pick and landed on the All-Pac-12 first team. A two-time Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week, Wesley started all 25 matches at center defender, logging 2182:30 minutes and helping guide Stanford to 14 shutouts while limiting opponents to just .60 goals per game on 9.60 shots per game. Turning in an all-around season, she scored four goals and added six assists to finish with 14 points. A staple of the back line, Wesley played 70-plus minutes in 23 of the 25 matches played, including full time in 19 of the 25.
 
Both Aikey (2022) and Wesley (2019) had previously been named to TopDrawerSoccer's Freshman Best XI in their respective first seasons.
 
Maya Doms placed on the second team for the second time in her career (2022) after previously being named to the Freshman Best XI in 2019.
 
Doms was a United Soccer Coaches All-Region first team selection while also landing on the All-Pac-12 first team. The native of Davis, Calif. started all 25 matches for the Cardinal and scored a team-best 12 goals and assisted on six more to total 30 points. Doms scored in 12 of the 25 matches, including each of the final three, six of the last eight, and nine of the final 15. Her 12 goals ranked second in the Pac-12 and 24th nationally, while the 30 points were third in the conference and 24th in the nation.
 
Elise Evans, a Freshman Best XI pick in 2022 alongside Aikey, landed on the Best XI third team this season.
 
Evans started all 25 matches alongside Wesley on the Stanford defensive line, helping Stanford secure its 14 shutouts. On the attack, Evans contributed two goals – including the game-winner in a 1-0 victory over No. 18 Mississippi State in the third round of the 2023 NCAA Tournament. The native of Redwood City, Calif. was named United Soccer Coaches All-America third team this season, earned a spot on the All-Region first team and landed on the All-Pac-12 second team.
 
Making an immediate impact on The Farm, freshman Shae Harvey earned a spot on the Freshman Best XI first team. Fellow first-year players Joelle Jung and Mia Bhuta landed on the Freshman Best XI second team.
 
Harvey started every match of her freshman season, finishing with a goal and three assists while being a key contributor on the defensive side out of the midfield. Harvey, an All-Pac-12 third team selection and a member of the All-Pac-12 freshman squad, was named to the Women's College Cup All-Tournament team following the national championship match.
 
Jung appeared in 23 matches this season, including starting 12 down the stretch. An All-Pac-12 freshman team selection, Jung scored four goals and added four assists to finish with 12 points. All four of her goals proved to be game-winners.
 
Bhuta played in every match of her freshman season, including starting 24 of the 25, and registered one goal on 27 shots. Beginning her career in the midfield, Bhuta shifted back to the defensive line in the latter half of the season to fortify the stellar Stanford defensive line.
 
In addition to announcing the Best XI teams, TopDrawerSoccer also released its Postseason Top 100 Players list. The list, which includes sophomores, juniors, and seniors, features five Cardinal players. Aikey is the highest-ranked player at No. 5, followed by Wesley (No. 7), Doms (No. 16), Evans (No. 29) and Ryan Campbell (No. 51).
 
Campbell was named Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Year and earned a spot on the United Soccer Coaches All-Region first team. The All-Pac-12 first team pick started 23 of Stanford's 25 matches and allowed just 13 goals while making 60 saves – compiling a 16-1-4 record while recording 11 solo shutouts and combining on two more clean sheets. Ranked first in the Pac-12 in goals against average (0.601) and save percentage (.822), Campbell finished the season ranked 16th in the nation in goals against average. Her 11 shutouts led the Pac-12, placed eighth nationally and ranked eighth in Stanford history for a single season.
