Men’s Basketball Embarks on Foreign Tour

STANFORD, Calif. – The Stanford men's basketball program is set for a 10-day trip from August 20-30, visiting France and Greece on the foreign tour.

The Cardinal will face three opponents on the trip, beginning with Nanterre 92 on August 23 at 7:30 p.m. and continuing August 25 at 7 p.m. against Tremblay. Nanterre 92 finished 13th in 2022-23 in the French Pro A league, while Tremblay plays in the fourth division of the French pyramid. Stanford's third opponent will be Lavrio in Greece, on August 28 at 6 p.m., which finished ninth a year ago in the top division of the Greek Basket League.

In addition to the competition in Europe, Stanford will visit historic landmarks including the Louvre, Sacre Couer, Eiffel Tower and Normandy's historic World War II sites in France as well as the Acropolis and Greek isles in Greece.

Stanford held 10 team practices prior to flying over the Atlantic. The NCAA allows teams to travel overseas for an international tour once every four years. The Cardinal previously toured Germany/Italy (2019), Italy (2015), Spain (2011), Italy (2007) and Australia/New Zealand (2001).

The trip is organized by Global Sports & Events.
