STANFORD, Calif. – Elia Rubin and Kendall Kipp combined for 33 kills to lead No. 5 Stanford in a 25-21, 19-25, 25-16, 25-16 win over No. 10 Minnesota, Saturday, to wrap up the Big Ten/Pac-12 Challenge at Maples Pavilion.
Stanford (6-1) hit .304 as a team, while holding the Gophers (3-3) to a .205 clip. The Cardinal tallied 58 digs and matched its season-high with 13.0 blocks. Stanford again served tough, totaling eight aces. The Cardinal improves to 12-3 all-time versus Minnesota.

Rubin recorded a match-high 17 kills, three blocks and a season-best three aces in the win. The sophomore added 11 digs for her second double-double of the season. Kipp hit .382 with 16 kills to go with nine digs, five blocks and three assists.

Setter Kami Miner was spectacular, racking up 41 assists and a season-high four kills. She also had a double-double, her fourth of the season, collecting 11 digs and had three blocks. Libero Elena Oglivie tied for a match-high with 14 digs and notched two aces.

Middle blocker Sami Francis had another efficient night offensively, hitting .412 with eight kills on 17 swings with just one miscue. The junior added five blocks, two digs and an assist.

Redshirt senior McKenna Vicini posted a match-high seven blocks to go with three kills, while outside hitter Caitie Baird chipped in with six kills, nine digs and two blocks. Defensive specialist Anna Pringle turned in a pair of aces and a dig, while Taylor Beaven also had an ace off the bench.
Minnesota was led by sophomore outside hitter Mckenna Wucherer's 12 kills, six digs and an ace. Senior setter Melani Shaffmaster finished with 32 assists, 14 digs, and six kills on .667 hitting.
Stanford is back in action at home on Tuesday against another Big Ten foe in No. 4 Nebraska. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m. on ESPN.
