Burch Shines at Bruin Diving Invite

LOS ANGELES – Stanford diving wrapped up the Bruin Diving Invitational at Spieker Aqautics Center on Sunday afternoon, as junior Lauren Burch earned two top-10 event finishes over the weekend.
 
The Cardinal divers opened the three-day event on Friday morning with the 1-meter dive, as both Burch and Emilie Moore were eliminated in the preliminary round. Moore finished with a 241.50 in the prelims while Burch scored a 221.20 on the morning. 
 
Action continued with the 3-meter dive on Saturday, where Burch would collect her first finals appearance of the weekend. The Woodlands, Texas native would post a 279.55 prelim score before ultimately finishing fourth in the finals with a mark of 586.00. Moore would once again come up just short in the preliminary round, scoring a 243.50. 
 
Diving concluded on Sunday with the platform dive, where Burch would tally an eighth-place finish to close out the invitational with a score of 433.50. Burch finished among amongst 48 divers in the prelims, while Moore closed out her weekend with a 34th-place platform finish with a score of 171.40.
 
Stanford returns to action with a pair of dual meets next weekend, playing host to Arizona State on Jan. 19 and Arizona on Jan. 20.
