Rottman Secures National Honor

STANFORD, Calif. – After leading No. 8 Stanford to three ranked wins, outside hitter Will Rottman has been selected the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Player of the Week.

Rottman averaged 4.14 kills on .358 hitting, 0.43 aces, 1.14 digs, 0.64 blocks and 4.93 points per set in a win over No. 10 Loyola Chicago and two victories at No. 14 UC Santa Barbara.

Rottman hit a season-high .515 with a match-best 20 kills to go with two aces and a block on Monday against the Ramblers. In the first matchup against the Gauchos, he recorded a season-high 22 kills on .314 hitting, and season-bests with three aces and five blocks to help Stanford win at UCSB for the first time since 2012. He closed out the week with a team-high 16 kills, three blocks and a season-best five assists as the Cardinal completed the season sweep of the Gauchos.

On the season, Rottman leads the MPSF with 3.88 kills and 4.74 points per set. It is the second time he has earned the national recognition, and his first award since April 2022.

The Cardinal remains on the road this week, traveling to Austin, Texas for the First Point Collegiate Challenge. No. 8 Stanford will face No. 7 Penn State on Friday and No. 14 Ball State on Saturday. All matches of the tournament will be streamed by FloVolleyball.
