STANFORD, Calif. - The Cardinal claimed its second-straight weekly award as Yara Elian was named MPSF Artistic Swimmer of the Week on Wednesday. She joins fellow sophomore Ivy Davis on the awards list who earned the first honor of the season last week.
Elian was dominant for Stanford over the weekend, leading the team to a 100-88 victory over Incarnate Word. The sophomore featured in all but one event over the course of the competition and claimed an event title each time she swam.
Elian topped the field in the technical A elements event to start the meet. She was the first of nine Stanford swimmers in the top 10.
She then teamed up with Ella Rau to earn the duet title, she joined Lindi Schroeder and Elisa Brunel to take the trio title, and finished her weekend with a team event title.
The weekly award is the first of Elian's career.
