Cardinal Welcomes Huskies for Home Opener

  • Stanford women's gymnastics returns to The Farm Monday, Feb. 5 for its first home contest of the year, welcoming the Washington Huskies to Maples Pavilion.
  • The Cardinal's home opener is scheduled for a 7 p.m. PT start and will be streamed on Stanford Live Stream.
  • Stanford dropped its first Pac-12 Conference dual-meet matchup of the year Saturday, falling 197.000-196.000 to No. 19 Arizona inside of McKale Center in Tucson, Ariz.
  • Sophomore Porsche Trinidad earned the Cardinal's first conference weekly honor of the 2024 season Tuesday, named the conference's Coaches' Choice of the Week for her efforts in Arizona. Trinidad made her Stanford debut in Tucson last weekend, stepping into the lineup to anchor the beam rotation. The Emerald Hills, Calif. native suffered an ACL injury in her freshman campaign and her first collegiate performance of 9.800 in Arizona is a statement to the hard work and dedication to rehab Trinidad put in during the offseason.
  • Junior Brenna Neault led the way on beam for the Cardinal in Arizona, earning Stanford's first individual event title of the season. The junior has recorded 23 beam routines scoring 9.800-or-better in her collegiate career (out of 29 possible appearances).
  • Neault also won the all-around competition at Arizona with a total score of 39.275, led by season-best efforts on vault and beam. The junior has now led all Cardinal gymnasts in the all-around competition for two consecutive meets.
  • After a stellar season debut in Denver, junior Anapaula Gutierrez continued to shine in Denver with a new career-best effort on bars of 9.875. Since entering the Cardinal's bars lineup, the junior has aided the team to season-best rotations in the past two meets (49.250 at Denver, 49.400 at Arizona).
  • In her final season donning the Cardinal leo, fifth-year Chloe Widner has continued to be a cog in all of Stanford's lineups. The Frisco, Texas native only competed on bars in Arizona, but her season-best 9.950 on the event extended her streak of at least one 9.900-or-better in every meet dating back to Feb. 4, 2023 for a total of 19 efforts above the 9.900 threshold.
