Dual with Davis

- The Cardinal men's tennis program continues its eight-match homestand against UC Davis on Thursday, Feb. 22 at 2 p.m.
- Stanford is 4-3 this season with wins over Saint Mary's, then-No. 22 Memphis, Pepperdine and Sacramento State.
- Stanford moved to 34th in the latest ITA Rankings - the first done through computerized rankings this season. Samir Banerjee (32), Nishesh Basavareddy (51), Neel Rajesh (79) and Kyle Kang (113) are included in the Feb. 20 ITA singles rankings.
- Samir Banerjee leads the team with a 9-5 singles record this season, including a 2-0 dual record at No. 1 singles, while Nishesh Basavareddy is 3-0 with all three wins in the top position. Max Basing, Neel Rajesh, Filip Kolasinski, Kyle Kang and Hudson Rivera also have three dual wins this season, while Stanford is 6-0 at No. 1 singles and 5-0 at No. 6 on the season.
- The Cardinal is 9-0 all-time against UC Davis, last meeting in 2022 (W, 4-0).
- The Cardinal's 12-man roster is loaded with talent: former No. 1 Arthur Fery, last year's ITA National Champion Nishesh Basavareddy, Max Basing (ranked as high as No. 4 last year), Banerjee (last year's Pac-12 Freshman of the Year), three highly-touted freshmen and a series of veteran players with high-level collegiate experience.
- Fery and Basavareddy have seen tremendous success on the ATP Challenger Tour, with both players reaching their first tournament championship match in October. Fery has jumped into the top 300 in the world rankings at No. 266, while Basavareddy has risen more than 600 spots this season to No. 439.
- Stanford was represented in five collegiate tournaments this fall, with Banerjee posting a team-best six singles wins including a berth in the round of 16 at the ITA Fall National Championships. Hudson Rivera (3), Kyle Kang (2) and Neel Rajesh (2) also scored multiple singles wins in the fall, while Banerjee and Aryan Chaudhary combined for a pair of doubles wins.
- Stanford men's tennis wrapped up another strong season under head coach Paul Goldstein a year ago, winning 16 dual matches and advancing to the NCAA Super Regionals for the third year in a row. Arthur Fery and Nishesh Basavareddy gave the Cardinal multiple All-Americans for the first time since 2015.
- Stanford was heavily represented in the Pac-12's end-of-season awards, as Arthur Fery was named the 2023 Pac-12 Singles Player of the Year and Samir Banerjee was chosen as the Pac-12 Freshman/Newcomer of the Year. Fery and Banerjee were joined by Max Basing on the first team, while Nishesh Basavareddy was added to the second team.
- Paul Goldstein is in his 10th season as the Taube Family Director of Men's Tennis. Goldstein’s teams have posted a 147-66 record with a national ranking and a berth in the NCAA Championships in each of his seasons at the helm.
