Stanford Tops CSUN

STANFORD, Calif. – Led by Kevin Lamp and Moses Wagner, No. 4 Stanford defeated No. 17 CSUN, 25-22, 22-25, 25-20, 25-14, Friday, at Burnham Pavilion.

The Cardinal, which tallied a season-best 10 aces, improves to 7-0 for the first time since 1998. The Matadors drop to 5-4.

Lamp and Wagner each registered 10 kills to lead Stanford. Lamp finished with a match-high nine digs and a career-best four aces. Wagner added five digs, four blocks and two assists.
 


Setter Nathan Lietzke totaled 33 assist and had four digs and three aces. Libero Luke Turner collected seven digs.

Middle blocker Ethan Hill returned to the lineup and hit .571 with four kills on seven errorless swings to go with four blocks, two digs and an ace. Middle blocker Nathaniel Gates posted six kills on .364 hitting, four blocks, two digs and an ace.

Sophomore Theo Snoey started at outside hitter and recorded eight kills, four digs and four blocks. Fifth-year Adam Chang came off the bench to serve in the final three sets, tallying an ace. Sophomores Theoren Brouillette and Ryan DuRoss were also used as serving subs on Friday.
 


The win was Stanford's first over CSUN since 2022 after dropping three straight to the Matadors.

CSUN was led by Jalen Phillips' match-high 11 kills, while outside hitter Kyle Hobus had 10 kills, four digs and six blocks, including four solo.

Stanford and CSUN meet again on Saturday at 5 p.m. in Maples Pavilion on Pac-12 Bay Area.
