STANFORD, Calif. — Head coach Andrew Fuller has announced Stanford beach volleyball's 2024 schedule. The Cardinal hosts 15 home matches while meeting 12 top-20 teams and making trips to four states throughout the 2024 campaign.
For the third consecutive season, Stanford opens its season at the Duke Kahanamoku Beach Classic, hosted by the University of Hawai'i at Queen's Beach in Waikiki, Hawaii. The Cardinal will meet conference foes UCLA and USC, Hawai'i and Loyola Marymount in the three-day season-opening tournament. All programs the Cardinal will meet in the Aloha State finished the 2023 season in the top 10 of the AVCA rankings.
The Cardinal then travels back to California to welcome San José State, Saint Mary's, UC Davis, TCU, and Oregon to The Farm for the Battle of The Bay at Stanford Beach Volleyball Stadium. Stanford takes on the Horned Frogs and Ducks on Friday, March 1, and battles with the Spartans and Aggies on March 2.
Stanford then makes its first of two trips to Tempe, Ariz. for the Pac-12 South Beach Invitational March 8-9. The Cardinal takes on UCLA and host Arizona State on March 8 and meets Bay Area foe California and Oregon on March 9. All matches are scheduled to be televised on the Pac-12 Networks.
The Cardinal wraps up winter quarter action with two home matchups, taking on the University of North Florida and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on The Farm on March 15.
After completing final exams, the Cardinal welcomes Saint Mary's and San Francisco to The Farm for Monday afternoon matchups March 25, both televised on the Pac-12 Networks. Just four days later, Stanford travels to Baton Rogue, La., meeting Florida Atlantic and host LSU on March 29 and Florida State and a rematch with TCU March 30.
Washington plays host to the Pac-12 North Beach Invitational this season, where the Cardinal will take on the host Huskies and the USC Trojans on April 5 and Utah and Arizona on April 6.
The Cardinal closes out the regular season with seven home matchups, hosting USF for the second time in 2024 on April 10. Two days later, Arizona and Pacific come to The Farm for two games on April 12. Stanford then hosts Grand Canyon and Washington on April 19 and California and UC Davis on April 20 in its final taste of home action for the 2024 season. Stanford's matchup with UC Davis is the Cardinal's Senior Day and will celebrate the careers of the Cardinal's Abby Converse, Ellie Gamberdella, Maya Harvey, Asha Johnson, Kate Reilly, Emmy Sharp and Xolani Hodel.
The Cardinal's postseason begins in Tempe, Ariz. as ASU hosts the 2024 Pac-12 Championship April 24-26.
The program will look to return to Gulf Shores, Ala. for the fourth consecutive season for a chance to win the 2024 NCAA Championship. The national championship tournament features the nation's top 16 teams in a single-elimination tournament.
