STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford was selected to finish second in the Pac-12 following a poll of the Conference's head coaches, it was announced on Wednesday.
Stanford, which has won the last two Pac-12 titles, garnered 85 points and two first-place votes, trailing only Oregon State with eight first-place votes and 95 total points.
After the Beavers and Cardinal, UCLA followed in third place with 82 points and one first-place vote, ahead of Oregon (74 points) and USC (64) to round out the top five.
Arizona State was slated to finish sixth after earning 50 points, followed by Washington (49), California (40), Arizona (31), Utah (20) and Washington State (15) to round out the poll.
Stanford went 44-20 overall and 23-7 in the Pac-12 to win the conference title and punch a third consecutive ticket to the College World Series. The Cardinal finished last season ranked No. 4 in the nation according to D1Baseball, and enters its seventh season under the direction of Clarke and Elizabeth Nelson Director of Baseball David Esquer in 2024.
Stanford will open the 2024 season on Friday, February 16 at 2:05 p.m. when it hosts Cal State Fullerton to begin a three-game series from Sunken Diamond.
