COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - No. 3 Stanford swept the event titles and posted a season-high team score on Saturday afternoon to defeat No. 11 Air Force on the road, 416.350-396.450.
Junior Khoi Young led the Cardinal with a pair of event titles on the day, winning back-to-back crowns on vault and parallel bars. Young highlighted a season-best 72.950 vault rotation with a 15.100 score for the best vault of his career. Taylor Burkhart finished second with a season-best 14.900.
The Bowie, Maryland native followed it up with a 14.050 routine on parallel bars to pace the field, giving Young his second parallel bars title of the season.
Colt Walker took the event win on floor exercise to open the day with a score of 14.150 for his second event title of the season, also winning the floor title at the Stanford Open on Jan. 27.
J.R. Chou won the pommel horse title with a career-best 14.700 to highlight a rotation that featured three Stanford personal bests. Luke McFarland (14.500) and Arun Chhetri (14.150) placed second and third in the event, respectively, with career highs of their own.
Asher Hong posted a 14.250 to claim the still rings event title, while Brandon Nguyen rounded out the event winners on the high bar with a score of 13.750.
Taylor Burkhart (14.900) and Colt Walker (14.650) each posted season-bests on vault, while Jeremy Bischoff posted his top score of the year on floor with a 13.950.
Stanford swept the podium in four of the six events during Saturday afternoon's action.
The Cardinal return to action on March 16 as it welcomes top-ranked Oklahoma and No. 8 California to The Farm for the program's Senior Night meet at 4:00 p.m. PT.
