TEMPE, Ariz. – No. 2 Stanford won its seventh top-10 matchup of the season Saturday, sweeping No. 7 California 5-0 while also later topping Oregon by the same score to close out its time at the 2024 Pac-12 South Invitational in Tempe, Ariz on the campus of Arizona State University.
Stanford (10-2) finished its weekend 3-1 at the future site of the 2024 Pac-12 Championship.
All Cardinal duos earned their wins in straight sets against the Golden Bears except for on court one, where senior Xolani Hodel and freshman Brooke Rockwell held off a surge from California's Sierra Caffo and Kendall Peters in set two and extra points in set three to capture a 21-15, 14-21, 16-14 victory to secure the match sweep.
Stanford ended its time in Tempe with a clean sweep of the Ducks, the two programs' first meeting of the season after their first matchup was canceled due to weather conditions on The Farm last weekend.
The Cardinal finishes up competition for the winter quarter next Friday, welcoming the University of North Florida and Texas A&M Corpus Christi to Stanford Beach Volleyball Stadium for two midday matches March 15. The meetings with the Ospreys and Islanders are set for noon and 2 p.m., respectively.
