NCAA Bound

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - Three days of diving action came to a close on Wednesday afternoon at the NCAA Diving Zone E meet, as Lauren Burch and Emilie Moore each qualified in a pair of events for next week's NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. 

Action began on Monday afternoon with the 1-meter dive as Burch opened the day with a eighth-place finish in the prelims with a score of 275.15, with Moore joining her in the finals after a 268.95. In the afternoon session, Burch climbed up to fourth to automatically qualify her spot at the national meet with a total score of 573.35, while Moore would have to await an auto-bid in a later event after finishing 11th with a 533.70. 

The Stanford diving duo once again qualified for the finals in Tuesday's 3-meter dive competition but we're unable to finish within the top-eight for automatic qualifications, as Moore finished the day in 15th with 548.35 with Burch following just behind with a 545.10 in the 16th-place effort. 

Rounding out competition on Wednesday in the platform dive, which was allocated nine automatic bids to NCAAs, Moore tallied a top three score in the prelims with a 247.80 before ultimately finishing fourth in the event finals with a total score of 497.70, allowing the sophomore to also qualify her NCAA spot in the 1-meter dive. Burch also punched her ticket for a second event in the platform dive, finishing fifth on the with a 482.25 score. 

Stanford now shifts its focus to the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships on March 20-23 in Athens, Georgia.
