STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford senior Cameron Brink was one of four players named a Naismith Defensive Player of the Year finalist, the Atlanta Tipoff Club announced Tuesday.

Also a finalist for the award last season, Brink is joined on this year's list by Kamilla Cardoso (South Carolina), Hannah Hidalgo (Notre Dame) and Celeste Taylor (Ohio State).

Brink is the nation's leading active shot blocker with 406 in her career and recently became the 17th Division I player with 400 career rejections. She leads the country in both total blocks (109) and blocks per game (3.52), and is 19 shy of the Pac-12 record (Ruth Hamblin, Oregon State – 425).

Brink is third nationally in rebounds per game (12.0) and using College Basketball Reference advanced metrics, she tops all DI players in defensive box plus/minus (10.0), total rebound percentage (24.7) and block percentage (13.0). Her defensive rating of 69.6 is second.

Brink and the Cardinal are the No. 2 seed in Portland Regional 4 and open the NCAA Tournament at home on Friday, March 22 at 7 p.m. against No. 15-seed Norfolk State.
